Andrew Giuliani, a junior White House staffer and the son of infamous lawyer Rudy Giuliani, has now had his West Wing access revoked, directly contrasting an order from President Trump to promote him.
Trump had personally ordered Andrew Giuliani’s promotion after a dinner with Rudy Giuliani, now a member of the president’s ragtag legal team, at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
Trump reportedly commanded his body guard Jordan Karem to ensure that White House chief of staff John Kelly followed through with Andrew’s promotion.
However, that promotion never came to be.
Instead, Kelly stripped Andrew of his West Wing access, leaving him with only a “green pass.” Which means he can’t even enter the West Wing without an escort.
It’s uncertain whether Trump is aware that his order to promote Andrew was not followed through.
Trump and Andrew reportedly have a deep bond. The junior staffer once told Axios that he considers the president to be a “father figure.”
“The president has been there for me, for the good times, but more importantly through the bad,” he said. “That’s just the kind of man he is. I’m grateful that he’s always been willing to give me his advice on personal matters and I consider him to be my good friend and even a father figure. His family is my family.”
