California Governor Jerry Brown tore into President Trump this Wednesday, declaring that he was “not impressed” with his chosen stance on sanctuary laws.
Brown’s outrage came after Trump hosted a roundtable discussion with California Republican lawmakers where he congratulated them on holding a “rebellion” against the state’s sanctuary policies.
“Each of you has bravely resisted California’s deadly and unconstitutional sanctuary state laws,” Trump said at the White House. “You’ve gone through a lot, too, although it’s become quite popular what you do.”
🤥 @realDonaldTrump is lying on immigration, lying about crime and lying about the laws of CA. Flying in a dozen Republican politicians to flatter him and praise his reckless policies changes nothing. We, the citizens of the fifth largest economy in the world, are not impressed.

Brown criticized the president’s for the meeting saying “flying in a dozen Republican politicians to flatter him and praise his reckless policies changes nothing.”
Back in April, Brown was forced to deploy members of the National Guard “to combat” criminal activity within the state and at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Despite the deployment the governor insisted that “the California National Guard will not enforce immigration laws or participate in the construction of any new border barrier.”
In March, Trump announced that he stood in “solidarity” with those fighting against the state’s sanctuary policies suggesting that the laws “release known dangerous criminals into communities across the state.”
NBC news anchor Andrea Mitchell applauded Brown for standing up to Trump:

However, Donald Trump Jr. immediately shot back:
He was specifically talking about MS-13, and you know it. They are animals. I know you would rather side with them than Trump as you so often make clear but it’s a bad look for you Andrea. https://t.co/Mgoj1celNv

And it was all out war from there:
Then he needs to be a hell of a lot clearer because that's certainly not what it sounded like

If he was talking specifically about MS-13, he should have made that clear. He didn’t say that, Jr. Because he didn’t mean that, Jr.
