President Trump came forth this Thursday to attempt to give credit to a report which claims that the FBI under former President Obama spied on the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election, suggesting that the revelation could be “bigger than Watergate.
“Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI “SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN IMBEDDED INFORMANT,” the president wrote citing to a National Review report released last week.
“There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.” If so, this is bigger than Watergate!”

The report suggest that several agencies working for Obama used their surveillance powers to monitor the activities of the Trump campaign.
Last year, Trump lashed out against the former president for allegedly wiretapping Trump Tower shortly before the 2016 election.
“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires ” tapped,” the president wrote in March 2017.
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

However, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer later took back the president’s statement, explaining that he did not mean that Obama literally wiretapped Trump Tower.
“The president used the word wiretap in quotes to mean broadly surveillance and other activities during that,” Spicer said. “There is no question that the Obama administration, that there were actions about surveillance and other activities that occurred in the 2016 elections.”
Americans were furious:
Keep flinging your own feces around, Trump
Mueller isn't fooled and continues his investigation
